The Modify Settings Command

Description:

The Modify Settings menu command allows users to customize thier CAMCAD environment. Default settings that are defined here can be written to an ascii file called DEFAULT.SET, by performing menu command SETTINGS | SAVE SETTINGS. Each time CAMCAD is launched, these settings are read and applied to the current CAMCAD session.

PAGE TAB - Here is a screen capture and description of the Page Tab settings:

Page Units: The Page Units settings tells CAMCAD which unit of measurement to work in. Acceptable settings include Inches, MM, Mils, HP Plotter, and 10 nm.

Decimal Places: The Decimal Places settings tells CAMCAD the level of coordinate accuracy to display. E.G. 6 decimal places would show as "0.000000".

Page Coordinate Range: This setting defines the page size of the CAMCAD project window. Settings include Min X & Y, and Max X & Y.

Fit Page to Image: This option will re-size the CAMCAD project window to fit around all design elements.

APERTURE TAB - Here is a screen capture and description of the Aperture Tab settings:

Show Undefined Aperture: This option tells CAMCAD to place undefined aperture markers in the places where apertures that do not have size and shape definition exsist.

Show Undefined Aperture Number: This option tells CAMCAD to show the undefined apertures number.

Size of Undefined Apertures/Tools: This option tells CAMCAD what size (In Pixels) to display undefined apertures/tools.

GRID TAB - Here is a screen capture and description of the Grid Tab settings:

Grid Section: Within this section of this tab, lies the definition of how CAMCAD will display the CAMCAD Project window background grid. Definition options include Show - Yes/No, Grid Style - Dots/Lines, X & Y Spacing, X & Y offsets.

Snap Section: Within this section of this tab, lies the definition of how CAMCAD will snap when the Snap function is activated and the Grid is the snap to option selected. For more information on Snap to Grid Functionality of CAMCAD Click Here.

VIEW TAB - Here is a screen capture and description of the View Tab settings:

Translucent: This option toggles the Translucent mode in CAMCAD. Translucent mode will (Depending on the Fill Mode) combine or not combine colors of graphical elements of the design.

Translaucent Fill Mode: This option determines how the Translucent mode acts in CAMCAD. For example, if the Translucent Mode is set to "Merge Pen", then where graphics overlap, the two colors would be combined.

Hide Detail: This option allows the hiding of graphical elements that are smaller then the Detail Ratio Setting, by placing graphical markers rather then drawing each fine detail. This option helps make re-draw times faster.

Hide Detail Ratio: This option is the size setting for the Hide Detail option in CAMCAD. Anything that is smaller then this setting will be drawn with the Hide Detail Marker.

Show Origin: This option toggles the Origin in the CAMCAD Project Window. Checked = ON, UnChecked = OFF. This can also be toggled from the Snap Toolbar.

Show Hidden Attributes: This option toggles the hidden internal CAMCAD attributes on and off. Checked = ON, UnChecked = OFF.

Use Classic User Interface: The Classic interface is the interface that doesn't allow users to resize their dialog boxes.

Extents Margin: This option defines an area that is added in the CAMCAD project window when the Zoom Extents function is used. So, rather then zooming tightly around the extents of the design, this percentage of project area is added around the design.

Zoom Extents of Component Margin: Very similar to the Extents Margin, this option adds the percentage defined around components when users use the Zoom/Pan to REFDES function.

COLORS TAB - Here is a screen capture and description of the Colors Tab:

The options on this tab define the colors in which CAMCAD will display graphical elements.

REDLINING TAB - Here is a screen capture and description of the Redlining Tab:

Default Text Height: When Redlining is added into the CAMCAD Project window, this is the default text height setting.

Arrow Head Length: This setting defines the Redlining Arrow head size.

SYSTEM TAB - Here is a screen capture and description of the System Tab:

Search Range: The Search Range in CAMCAD defines the circular area of the CAMCAD cross hairs. The default value is 300 mils. If users click on an item and something else gets highlighted, using the F3 button (Keyboard) will toggle graphical elements within the Search Range.

Test Access Marker Size: This option defines the size of a CAMCAD Test Access Marker. 300 mils is the default size.

Join Lines Section: This option defines the specifics of the CAMCAD AutoJoin Lines function.

Auto Join Snap Size sets the limitation for the distance between two lines to be joined.

Chamfer Size sets the size of Chamfer during line joining.

Radius Size sets the allowable Radius Size for the join lines function.

PIN LABEL SETTINGS TAB - Here is a screen capture and description of the Pin Label Setting Tab:

Font Face - This option allows users to select the font of font they wish to use for the pin labels.

Nominal Text Height - This option allows users to input the nominal text height.

Minimum Text Height - This option allows users to input the minimum text height.

Maximum Text Height - This option allows users to input the maximum text height.

Text Box Height - This option allows users to input the text box height.

Text Angle - This option allows users to input the rotation angle for the text.
