The Check Value Attributes Command

Description:

The Check Value Attributes menu command allows the user to analyze the VALUE attribute, and normalize the "values" (strings) of that attribute.

Menu Location: Tools | PCB | Check Value Attributes

Hot Key: N/A

Toolbar Location: N/A

Toolbar Button: N/A

Details

The Check Value Attributes function will present to the user, instances of the VALUE attribute where the "value" of that attribute is un recognized/ not normal.

For example: If inserted component "R1" has a VALUE attribute with the "value" of "4k7", this function would normalize that to a new "value" of "4.7k". After the "value" of "4k7" is changed to "4.7k", all other inserts containing the VALUE attributes with that same "value" (Whether they are the same geometry or not) will also be normalized to the new "value" of "4.7k". If the "value" of an insert is not automatically normalized, the user will have a chance to enter a new "value" string for that insert. This new "value" string will NOT be applied to other inserts with the same "value". The user will have an opportunity to enter a new "value" string for those inserts as they are reported to the user by CAMCAD.

NOTE: This function does not normalize VALUE attributes on a geometry level and then push the normalized value to the insert level. The reason this function does not normalize on a geometry level and push to the insert level is because all inserts of a geometry may not have the same "value" for the VALUE attribute.
