Type File As PCB Design

The second step in the process is to tell CAMCAD that the Gerber data loaded is really a PCB Design File. While the data is not a design file, these steps will be injecting PCB design "intelligence" into the dataset. In any subsequent use of the data, CAMCAD will be able to leverage advanced analysis and export options because the data is a PCB Design.

The CAMCAD File List is the dialog where you tell CAMCAD that the loaded data is a PCB Design.

Open the File List (Tools | Files | File List) and double-click on the file entry.

When you double click on the file entry, you will see the Edit File Placement dialog. Use the File Type dropdown list and choose PCB Design. Click the OK button to accept the choice.
