Getting Results With CAMCAD

This section describes procedures that users of the various CAMCAD editions will be commonly be asked to perform. Each of these procedures involves two or more menu commands used in concert to accomplish a complex task such as producing test files from ECAD and/or BOM data.

The getting results section is organized as follows:

  • Inspect and Edit CAD Data: This section describes common procedures used during the inspection and editing of ECAD data in CAMCAD. This includes things such as verifying the primary board outline, cleaning up the view of the board, querying components to determine attributes, and identifying tooling hole locations.
  • DFT: The Design for Test Section describes how to use of CAMCAD's DFT suite of functions as well as how to prepare test output files for all of the Testers supported by CAMCAD (3070, Teradyne AOI, Takaya Flying Probe, 5DX etc.). Also includes a section on Testpoints and their properties in the CAMCAD environment.
  • DFM: The RSI DFM offering is eSight.
  • PCB Translations: Instructions for translations listed by original system.
  • Working with Gerber: Instructions for working with Gerber data in CAMCAD.
