CAMCAD Version 4.3.0 Release Information

Router Solutions Incorporated is pleased to announce the release of CAMCAD version 4.3.0.

There are many new features that have been added as well as many enhancements to existing functionality. In addition to all those new features and enhancements, we have resolved many bugs reported for version 4.2.x, which will be included in the 4.3.0 release.

Item Descriptions

New Features
1) Many of the CAMCAD dialogs are now resizable. (Example: CAMCAD Query dialog & CAMCAD Layer List dialog)

2) CAMCAD dialog positions are now saved. (The position of the dialogs are recorded)

3) When launching CAMCAD, the Project Window is always maximized.

4) CAMCAD now remembers it's location and size when relaunched (from previous session).

5) Right clicking in the CAMCAD project window now brings up "bring to front" and "send to back" options.

6) Scaleable Pin/Net name labels - The CAMCAD display of pin names/net names of pins is now customizable.

7) Assign CAMCAD Graphical Classes to Layers. Graphical Classes can now be assigned to all the graphics on a specified layer.

8) Delete by Graphic Class and Insert Type. CAMCAD now offers a delete by Graphical Class or Insert Type option for more targeted data clean-up.

9) New Device Typer built into CAMCAD. Device Typing is now an internal function to CAMCAD 4.3.0

10) New export module - SPEA CAMCAD 4.3.0 now offers a SPEA Test Output module.

11) New Stencil Creation Tool - CAMCAD 4.3.0 now offers a Stencil Creation tool for making stencils from CAD data.

Enhancements
1) Enhanced/Re-Vamped Panelization Dialog

  • Added Step and Repeat Capability
  • Enhanced Placement Capability
2) Enhanced/Re-Vamped Generate Centroid Dialog

  • Support for a CAMCAD Centroid file
  • New Centroid creation alogrithmns
  • Centroid modification within dialog.
3) Enhancements to the ODB++ reader, streaming uncompression import.
4) Enhancements to the Mentor Boardstation reader.

  • Mentor Boardstation read now supports the use of Mentor's layer file.
  • Filter by Graphic Class and Insert Type capability
  • Enhanced Mentor Layer Modeling
  • Support for multi-visible attribute instances
  • New command to expand pads from SIGNAL and POWER generic layers to a specific signal_# and power_# layers. This facilitates a more Mentor like view

5) Enhancement to the PADS writer. PADS Writer now supports placement dependent components by creating a Top Decal for the top-sided component and a Bottom Decal for the Bottom-sided component.

6) Re-Vamped *.IN & *.OUT CAMCAD configuration files. All of the CAMCAD reader and writer settings files have been updated to contain a better description for each command as well as being documented on the reader/writer web pages.
