Scicards, Harris EDA, Encore PCB
Overview
The Scicards File reader takes as input a CII (.DAT) file.
For directions on creating this file in Scicards, please see
the original system file generation
section.
Versions Supported
CAMCAD supports Version 23 thru 28 (CII2-8).
Specific Import Procedures
The Scicards import procedure does not vary from the
generic import procedure described in the Importing
Section index. Simply choose the File
| Import command from the menu or the Import
button on the Main toolbar. From the list of licensed import
modules select "Scicards/Encore Layout Read"
and click OK. Next, browse to
your Scicards file and click OK
to load the file. Finally, check the log messages and select
"Place at Origin and Fit Page to Image".

The default rules file is Scicards.in and is found in the
CAMCAD directory. See CII.in
File for more information regarding the use of this file.
Tips, Notes and Importing Questions
General Comments
Board outline is PSEUDO REAL. LOCAL COMPONENT driven.
Input Comments
Scicards can have complex padstack definitions with pads
and vias in the same padstack. Most other CAD systems can
not handle this.
Translator run time is slow due to the fact that the CII
database is layer oriented .
Can define local padstacks per component, which may be different
from the Library definition.
Pads (534) must be part of a Pingroup (552), all other pads
are ignored.
