CADStar for Windows, Visula CADIF (.PAF)
Overview
The CADStar for Windows and Visula (.PAF) file import module
is a dual purpose importer. It is used to import both CADStart
for Windows Cadif files and Redac-Visula Cadif Files. While
there is a single importer there are different .IN files and
different original system file generation procedures for each
of the systems. For detailed directions on creating the necessary
file in CADStar, please see the CADStar
original system file generation section. For detailed
directions on creating the necessary file in Redac-Visula,
please see the Redac-Visula original
system file generation section.
Versions Supported
CAMCAD supports any version of CADSTAR for Windows
PAF files.
Specific Import Procedures
The CADStar/Visula (.PAF) import procedure does not vary
from the generic import procedure described in the Importing
Section index. Simply choose the File
| Import command from the menu or the Import
button on the Main toolbar. From the list of licensed import
modules select Redac CADIF (.paf) Layout Read. Next select
a file to open. Click Open. You
will see a window called CADIF Import Format. Just click "OK".
Finally, check the log messages and select "Place at Origin
and Fit Page to Image".
After loading the CADIF file check to see if all the layers
you want to translate are turned on.
The default rules file for Redac-Visula and Redac-CadSTAR
are in "Cadif.in" and is
found in the CAMCAD directory. See Cadif.in
File for more information regarding the use of this file.
Tips, Notes and Importing Questions
You also might want to consider whether you want to work
with everything in the database, like extra layout parts which
are not being used or other things that may be loaded into
the database and are not being used. In CAMCAD just
go to Tools > Purge Unused Geometries,
this will clean out your database.
