Zuken Redac PWS (CR 3000 and CR 5000)

Overview

The Zuken Redac PWS File reader takes as input 7 filles, including:

  • xxx.BSF
  • xxx.UDF
  • xxx.MDF
  • xxx.WDF
  • xxx.WSF
  • xxx.CCF
  • xxx.PMA

For directions on creating these files in Zuken Redac PWS , please see the original system file generation section.

Versions Supported

All CR3000 versions are supported for creating the needed decompiled files. This requires a Zuken license for PWS Standard ASCII Format I/O package, license no. D400. CR5000 comes in 2 flavors:

  1. PWS Supported for all OSes: The same license requirements are needed as for CR3000. The LOADZUKN script will not run under Windows NT and the decompilers must be run individually (see instructions in the Original System File Generation section).
  2. Board Designer: The Standard ASCII Format I/O package from Zuken is not supported for the Board Designer product. Board Designer does support a new format which is comprised of two files, .ftf and .pcf. This format is the supported format for Board Designer.

CR3000/CR5000 PWS running under SUN/Solaris and HP UNIX

Please note that a ZUKEN created script is used to generate the required files through a series of PWS commands. These commands are strictly PWS commands and they will not work with Board Designer. Currently there is no provision for creating the proper files under CR5000 Board Designer on the Windows NT platform.

Specific Import Procedures

The Zuken Redac PWS CR3000/5000 import procedure varies slightly from the generic procedure described in the Importing Section index. First choose the File | Import command from the menu or the Import button on the Main toolbar. From the list of licensed import modules select "Zuken PWS (CR3000/CR5000) Layout Read" and click OK.

Now CAMCAD will ask you for ???????.BSF file. Once you click on the ????????.BSF file it will look for the other files required for the import, which are, xxx.UDF, xxx.MDF, xxx.WDF, xxx.WSF, xxx.CCF and xxx.PMA.

Check the log messages and select Place at Origin and Fit Page to Image.

After loading the Zuken files check to see if all the layers you want to translate are turned on.

Tips, Notes, Importing Questions and Limitations

Reading of *.PMA File - CAMCAD 4.2 now reads the *.PMA file. The *.PMA file provides the designs pinnames and the mapping required for the pin number to pin name mapping.

AutoArc (radius Chamfering) is not supported in the Zuken Reader.

Reference Designators and other component attribute placement is not graphically supported in CAMCAD.

You also might want to consider whether you want to work with everything in the database, like extra layout parts which are not being used or other things that may be loaded into the database and are not being used. In CAMCAD just go to Tools > Purge Unused Geometries, this will clean out your database.
