Importing Files Into CAMCAD

Files Imported by CAMCAD
In general, CAMCAD imports graphical and intelligent
PCB Layout, Schematic, Graphical, and Mechanical CAD data
for viewing and translating. All data files are expected to
be 100% ASCII data.
Configuration files called *.IN files are used to help interpret
the CAD data. Various *.IN files can be found in your CAMCAD
directory. They can be loaded into Notepad for viewing or
modification.
Generic Import Procedure
In general, files are imported into CAMCAD using the
File
| Import menu command. Users select the format
from the list of available modules on the left side of the
import dialog, and browse to select the appropriate file.
As CAMCAD reads the data, various *.IN file commands
will influence how the CAD data is interpreted. Once data
is imported it will automatically display the data in the
active document window.
CAMCAD Import Modules
The following table lists the import modules available in
CAMCAD. If you are unsure of what specific importer
applies to your CAD/CAE/CAM system, please look for the system
in the second column or use the navigation structure on the
left to locate the company and system that you have.
