CAMCAD Utilities

There are several programs designed to work with CAMCAD or CAMCAD data outputs. Some of these utilities make abundant use of the CAMCAD API's to integrate directly with the CAMCAD application, while others import data that has been prepared in the CAMCAD environment. Click on a link below or in the navigation bar to the left to find out more about how to use these utilities:

  • Agilent 3070 Mirror Utility:This program will normalize mirrored boards on panel, making them suitable for 3070 Board and Board_XY export.
  • CCLaunch: CCLaunch in an application designed to give users the ability to open CAD files with CAMCAD simply by double-clicking on the file in windows.
  • Comp Class: This utility has been replaced with the more modern DeviceTyper
  • Device Typer: This application assigns the DEVICETYPE attribute in CAMCAD
  • GenMFG: GenMFG is a utility that allows users to create Generic Manufacturing Test and Insertion files (.TST and .INS) using a .CCM file created in CAMCAD. GenMFG creates files that contain component centroids, component placement information (X,Y), PAD and component technology verification as well as many other useful types of data.
  • Netlist Analyzer:
  • PCB Explorer: PCB Explorer is a utility designed to work with CAMCAD through API's. With PCB Explorer users are able to quickly identify and view component and net information throughout the entire board.
  • Schematic Link: Schematic Link is a schematic cross-probe utility designed to integrate with CAMCAD's graphical ECAD viewing environment. It gives the Test Engineer the capability to point and click on a part in either the Layout file or the Schematic file, and the cooresponding part in the other file is found and highlighted. Unlike some other tools on the market, the files used with Schematic Link are actual intelligent data sets that contain both netlist information and real part information. Cross-probing can therefore be accomplished on either nets or components. SchematicLink is now built into CAMCAD version 4.1 and greater.

  • Open Source: Open Source utilities were designed to demonstrate the ease with which CAMCAD can be customized through use of the CAMCAD API's. All source code and associated documentation are included with these utilities and, because the utilities themselves are open source, users are encouraged to play with the code and submit improvements.
